Photocentric Additive
Gamechanger for additive manufacturing
Jointly developed by Photocentric and CoreTechnologie, the innovative Photocentric Additive software suite has been designed for Liquid Crystal Magna.
The software doesn’t just handle the file to make it ready for printing by slicing and supporting, it does something very special…
It allows you to modify the exterior of the surface of your part to not just remove the layer lines, but also add the texture of your choice.

3D textures
Select your desired surface area with a single click, and the program applies that surface texture from the database. The Texture Module provides more than 5,000 different 3D texture structures. You can upload their own texture or logo. The size, resolution, position and height of the structure can all be adjusted.

CAD engineering
With conventional 3D printing software tools, CAD models are already triangulated and converted to an approximate and imprecise STL description, so that further operations like model repair, result in significant deviations from the original shape. In the B-Rep kernel of Photocentric Additive you can create a quality check, repair and preparation of models in exact accordance with the exact geometry.

Geometry optimisation
Photocentric Additive modifies files using B-Rep geometry which provides clear advantages over software taking tessellated models. Optimisation is achieved by de-featuring and modifying critical areas of the geometry. Our scaling function can deform models independently cross the three major axes to compensate for shrinkage or distortion.
Modelling tools are available as an additional modules.

Nesting and optimisation
Photocentric Additive delivers intelligent 2D nesting. The extremely fast nesting function uses superfast multiprocessing to provide ultimate automation. You can specify the number of parts and minimum distance. The build volume is filled automatically, so the optimised number of components is placed on the platform.

Support generation
The automatic analysis tool identifies areas where support structures are required. You can customise the support structures and create auto supports, or add them manually.

Splitting Parts
Components that are too large for the Liquid Crystal Magna printer platform can be cut using different patterns such as T-shape, dovetail or puzzle shape. Then the position of the cutting plane can be specified. The function works automatically, creating two solid models that perfectly mate after printing.
This functionality is only available in the additional modelling module.

Slicing
Using the exact B-Rep and the multiprocessor calculation delivers unrivalled slicing speeds. The default slicing parameters are taken from the technology database and users can upload sliced files (in CWS format) directly to the Liquid Crystal Magna.

3D lattice structures
Transforming models into lattices reduces material usage, cost and can provide improved mechanical properties. Models can be replaced fully with latticed structures. You can keep functional areas as the original geometry and lattice non-critical surfaces. The software offers 16 different patterns for lattice structures- such as honeycomb, octet, or centre point.
3D lattice structure is available as an additional model to the standard package.

License options
Photocentric Additive is a licence-based package available to new and existing Photocentric LC Magna owners.
To get Photocentric Additive you will need to buy a software licence and sign up for the support and maintenance programme. The maintenance programme is charged at a rate of 20% of the standard
licence fee per annum.
To mark 20 years of innovation we are waiving the maintenance fee for the first year.*
*For a limited time only
Minimum system requirements
Photocentric Additive uses VBOs for the 3D display. Thus it is necessary to use a GPU supporting at least OpenGL 4.0. Any GPU older than 2010 would not meet this criteria.
We highly discourage to use Intel graphic card (embedded chipset). In the case of a server, a professional GPU is not required. A double GPU system is also not required.
A minimum of 4GB of VRAM are required for the GPU.
Photocentric Additive Standard Package
Pricing – Year One
Photocentric Additive standard package (including maintenance for full year*)
$12,600
$10,500
Pricing – Year Two
After one year, to ensure that you can access the latest upgrades, improvements, and product support you will need to continue to pay for the maintenance programme.
$2,100
*Please note that the maintenance programme fee is payable on a pro rata basis from the month after purchase in Year One. Therefore, if you buy in April, you pay for May until December (i.e. 8 months).
